Stan Musial played in the majors for 22 seasons, all for the St. Louis Cardinals. He is considered to be one of the greatest and most consistent hitters in baseball history. Musial was a 3x N.L. MVP and 3x World Series Champion, and finished his career setting multiple National League records for hits (3,630), RBI's (1,951), games played (3,026), AB's (10,972), runs scored (1,949) and doubles (725). Over the span of his career he hit 475 home runs and 6,134 total bases, and earned the title of batting champion seven times. Musial's career hits of 3,630 currently ranks fourth all-time, and is the highest in Major League history by any player who spent his entire career with just one team. All of these accolades allowed for Musial to become a first-ballot Hall of Fame inductee in 1969. Presented in this lot is the ultimate signed baseball from Stan Musial. The official National League ball is signed by Musial with 16 added inscriptions highlighting his multiple career accomplishments. The signature and all of the inscriptions are signed entirely in blue ball-point pen, with his signature and "HOF 69" prominently displayed on the ball's sweet spot.
