2009 marked the first season the Bronx Bombers had a new stadium to call home in nearly a century. Although they were in new and unfamiliar surroundings, they maintained the strong tradition of their franchise's winning ways that they experienced during their storied history at the old Yankee Stadium.

The 2009 Yankees finished the season with a 103-59 record. In the 2009 Playoffs, they defeated the Twins in the ALDS, the Angels in the ALCS, and ultimately the Philadelphia Phillies in the World Series. The 2009 championship marked the 27th in New York Yankees franchise history.

Presented in this lot is a genuine 2009 New York Yankees World Series Ring. The 2009 Yankee World Series ring is one of the most stunning and eye-catching championship rings of all time. The top of the rings' face measures 23.65 x 26.25 millimeters, and features an eye catching "Yankee Blue" center stone. The Yankees iconic interlocking “NY” logo placed over the stone is drenched in diamonds clustered together that rise up from a diamond lined base path with four additional larger diamonds to represent the infield bases and home plate. The 9 3/4 size, 14K white gold ring boasts an astonishing 95 diamonds, with total diamond weight of approximately 2.50 carat total weight, and weighs a total of 46.5 grams. Two rows of small diamonds line the perimeter of the ring. The left shank features a representation of the brand new Yankee Stadium, above which appears the words "WORLD CHAMPIONS," and below, "2009" and the word "UNITY." The right shank displays the name of the recipient, "JOHNSON," as well as the Yankees famous "Top Hat" logo, and the word "TRADITION." A special engraved design on the interior band commemorates the opening of the new stadium. The design incorporates a section of the famed stadium facade and is marked "YANKEE STADIUM / 2009 / INAUGURAL." The interior of the ring features addition engraving "Balfour 14K" noting the ring's manufacturer and gold weight.
